Mozzies beware!

As we are travelling around, we will spending time in some countries which necessitate our taking Anti Malarials. We have chosen to buy in the UK and take a few months supply with us – that way we can be sure we have them so can adapt our plans easily and also be confident in the product.  Medication is available the world over, but we know we are being sold a true product here as content and dosage could vary elsewhere, so that’s a good starting point.

We discussed the options, routine and the side effects of each with our travel nurse.  We decided to steer away from the ones with the slightly increased possibility of ‘suicidal thoughts, depressive feelings, nightmares, sleep disturbance and hallucinations’. Suddenly, constipation, diarrhoea, headaches and skin sensitivity seem so much more appealing!

After looking online (and a bit of GCSE maths working out cost per tablet) we found that TravelPharm were really good value. We ordered pediatric and adult medication through them. TravelPharm deliver and even give you a precise time your meds will arrive (1 hour time slot) Really fantastic service!

Thankfully we’ve manage to compact the delivery to make it easier to pack. This is 8 weeks worth for us!

  • Tablets – check,
  • long sleeves – check,
  • repellant – check,
  • anti-bite cream – check
  • PHD in pharmaceuticals – well underway …
